All began when some days ago I was searching new patterns because I wanted to create a new garment, I found the Simplicity site and then I realised a huge amount of patterns. But when I entered Simplicity home site I realised that there was a contest.

the only thing I had to do was choosing a pattern from 3 and finally I decided to take part with the vintage simplicity shirt

I live in Spain so I didn’t know if it was possible to take part in it but I asked to simplicity and they told me there was no problem, so here it is my finished vintage shirt. I wanted to sew and give my shirt a vintage look so I used vintage sewing techniques as handpicking the zipper or zig-zag and pinking sheers to finish the hems. I am very happy with the result and as a consequence I am sewing another vintage shirt. Thanks Simplicity I’ve enjoyed the experience so much!!
The handpicked zipper gives an excellent vintage touch.I doubted but finally tried sewing it with this vintage technique because I wanted that my shirt had the authentic vintage look. I must say that sewing handndpicked zippers offers more control when sewing and gives a “haute couture” appearance.
